Why a tender appears in your matches
Updated 2 Oct 2026
Your matches come from your saved searches and followed buyers, and Pro can add a short plain-English reason to a match.
Your matches are the tenders that fit the saved searches and followed buyers you have set up. If a tender appears that surprises you, the answer is almost always one of a handful of settings you control, and you can change any of them in a minute. On Pro and Business, a match can also carry a short reason in plain English.
What shapes your matches
- Your saved-search keywords. The terms in each saved search. See Manage your saved searches.
- The buyers you follow. Every new tender from a buyer you follow appears. See Follow a buyer.
- Your buyer types. The Buyer types card in Preferences, such as Councils or NHS, narrows your keyword matches. See Filter by buyer type.
- Your European tenders switches. These decide whether notices from across Europe, in English or in every language, can appear. See Ireland and EU settings.
Sectors and regions shape what you see on Browse. Your sectors are set under Your sectors in Preferences, and your regions under Regions or with the Region list on Browse tenders. See Search and filter live tenders.
If your matches feel too broad, refine a keyword or choose a buyer type. If they feel thin, add a keyword. Keywords or sectors: which to use helps you decide where to start.
See your matches
- Your Dashboard lists your matches.
- For a single saved search, open Saved searches and select View matches on its card.
The short reason on Pro
On Pro and Business, a match can carry a short plain-English reason explaining why it suits you. It is shown when one is available.
- On your dashboard it appears under the match, marked AI.
- On a saved search's View matches page, select Why this matched under a tender to read it, and Hide reasoning to close it.
On Free, you still see the matches themselves. On the View matches page, an Unlock AI reasoning link takes you to pricing in place of the reason. Pro also gives you every match delivered daily. See the plans on the pricing page.
Hide a tender that is not for you
On the View matches page, select the cross on a tender (its tooltip reads "Not relevant: hide from results") to remove it from that list.
Good to know
- On Browse tenders, every filter in use is shown, and the line "Showing X of Y live tenders" tells you how many are in view. Select Clear filters to see everything.
- You can change any of these settings at any time.
- If a tender you expected is missing from your matches, check your keywords, your buyer types and your European tenders switches first. If it is missing from Browse, check your regions and sectors too.
Common questions
Why am I seeing tenders that do not suit me?
Your matches come from the keywords in your saved searches and the buyers you follow, narrowed by your buyer types and European tenders switches. Refine a keyword, or hide a tender with the cross on a match, and your list becomes more focused.
Do I get a reason for each match?
On Pro and Business, a match can carry a short plain-English reason. On Free, you see the match itself and an Unlock AI reasoning link.
