Search and filter live tenders

Updated 2 Oct 2026

Use the search box and the filters on Browse tenders to narrow every live tender down to the ones you can bid for.

Browse tenders shows every live tender, and you can narrow the list in a few clicks. Type a keyword, then use the filters above the results to cut it down by region, deadline, buyer type and sector. Browsing and filtering is included on every plan, including Free.

Search by keyword

  1. Open Browse Live Tenders from the Find Tenders menu (or go to /browse).
  2. Type into the search box, which reads "Search by keyword, title, reference number".
  3. Select Search.

Your search appears as a badge above the results, with a cross to clear it. Describe what you do rather than how the buyer is buying. "IT support" or "grounds maintenance" will find more than "framework" or "ITT", and Browse will suggest this if you search with procurement jargon.

Narrow the results

The filters sit under the search box.

  1. Region: choose All regions or pick one. The list covers the English regions, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland and EU.
  2. Deadline: choose Any deadline, Closing in 7 days or Closing in 30 days.
  3. Sort: choose Newest first or Closing soonest.
  4. Buyer types: select one or more chips such as Councils or NHS. All buyers removes the filter. There is a full guide at Filter by buyer type.
  5. Filtered: your sectors appear as badges. Select Change to edit them in your preferences.

See exactly what is applied

Nothing is hidden. When any filter is on, the page says "Showing X of Y live tenders", where Y is every live tender and X is what matches your filters. Select Clear filters next to that line to reset your sectors, buyer types, regions and deadline in one go.

Your starting filters come from your profile, so the first time you open Browse tenders it may already be narrowed to your sectors and regions. The filters you choose on the page take priority over your profile and are kept in the page address, so the back button and a bookmarked link both return you to the same view.

Save a search you will repeat

After you search, a Save search button appears above the results. Choose Create new alert, or Add to existing alert if you already have a saved search, then select Save. If the term is already in one of your saved searches, the button shows the name of that search instead. See Manage your saved searches for what happens next.

Good to know

  • Each result shows its buyer, region and closing date, so you can scan the list quickly. Tenders with no deadline say "No deadline".
  • The note under the filters, "Want to include EU tenders?", links to your settings. See Ireland and EU settings.
  • Business plans also get an Export CSV button above the results. Pro and Business show a short reason why a tender suits you in your matches. See Why a tender appears in your matches.
