Ireland and EU settings

TenderSignal covers the UK and Ireland, with optional EU coverage on top. You decide how far to look: add Ireland as a region, and use two switches in Preferences to include European notices in English, in every language, or not at all. The settings apply to Browse, your saved searches, similar tenders and all your emails and alerts.

Include Ireland

You can choose Ireland in either of two places.

On Browse tenders

1. Open Browse Live Tenders from the Find Tenders menu (or go to /browse).
2. Open the Region list and choose Ireland.

In your Preferences, to keep it

1. Open Preferences in your account settings.
2. Under Regions, tick Ireland. The EU option is there too.
3. Select Save regions.

The region list also has UK-wide, and Reset to all UK puts you back to a UK-wide view.

Choose how much of Europe you see

Still in Preferences, find the European tenders card. It has two independent switches, each showing On or Off:

• European tenders in English: notices written in English, from anywhere in Europe. These can be read and bid on without translation. This switch is on unless you turn it off. Turning it off confirms with "English EU tenders hidden", and Browse and your alerts become UK and Ireland only.
• European tenders in other languages: further notices, mostly in German, French, Polish and Danish. Every one still shows its country and category in English, so you can find work by sector and translate only what you decide to pursue. This switch is off until you turn it on, and it is worth considering only if you bid across Europe and can commit to on-site delivery.

You see a short message each time you change a switch, for example "All European tenders included".

Where the settings apply

The two switches affect Browse, your saved searches, similar tenders and all alerts, so a change on one page carries through everywhere. A note under the filters on Browse tenders, and in the saved search form, reads "Want to include EU tenders?" and links to the same page.

Good to know

• With European tenders in English on, which is the default, Irish tenders already show on Browse. If you turn it off, your alerts become UK and Ireland only, and Browse becomes UK only unless you choose Ireland as a region.
• Regions in the UK, such as London or Scotland, narrow your results to that area. Ireland and EU add countries rather than narrowing the UK.
• You can change any of these settings at any time.
