Description
Integrated Impact Assessment (IIA) - Greater Manchester Spatial Development Strategy The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) is looking to commission an Integrated Impact Assessment (IIA) to support the preparation of a Spatial Development Strategy (SDS) for Greater Manchester. Statutory SDSs were introduced through the Planning and Infrastructure Act 2025. The SDS will provide a strategic planning framework for the city-region over a 25-year plan period and once adopted, it will form part of the development plan for Greater Manchester’s local planning authorities (Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, and Wigan).
It is a high-level, statutory planning document that will set strategic policies covering growth, housing, employment, infrastructure, the environment, and transport.
