Description

Adult Social Care Operational Mental Health and Learning Disability teams are working with an

increasing number of complex adults who are assessed under The Care Act 2014 as requiring

care and support. These individuals often have several complex needs including a learning

disability and or mental health disorder alongside substance misuse, forensic background and

high levels of risking taking behaviours. Due to these complexities social workers currently have

limited housing options to explore as adults do not meet the eligibility criteria for placements

within supported living accommodation and/or there are legacy issues with providers who are

not willing to accept them as tenants.
