Fix a quiet inbox
Updated 2 Oct 2026
Most quiet inboxes come down to your email setting, an unverified address, your spam folder or a search that is a little too narrow.
If your TenderSignal inbox has gone quiet, the cause is usually one of a handful of things you can check in a few minutes. Work down this list, and you will either find the fix or know exactly what to tell us.
1. Check your email setting
- Open
/profile(the Profile page). - In Email preferences, look at Tender & opportunity alerts.
- If it says Off, choose Weekly or, on Pro and Business, Daily.
If you ever used an Unsubscribe link in one of our emails, tender emails stay off for that address, even when your setting says Daily or Weekly. See change or stop your emails.
2. Make sure you have a saved search
Emails are built from your saved searches or buyers you follow, so you need at least one. Open Saved searches and check it is listed under All searches. If not, select Add saved search. See set up keyword alerts.
3. Check your plan
- On the Free plan you receive one weekly digest, on a Tuesday or Thursday morning, and only in weeks when something new matched. The first can take about ten days after you sign up.
- On Pro and Business, you are emailed on days when there is something new. If you chose Weekly, it arrives on Mondays.
4. Check your spam and promotions folders
Our emails come from [email protected]. If you find one in spam, mark it as not spam and add the address to your contacts. In Gmail, check the Promotions tab too. If your organisation filters mail centrally, ask your IT team to allow tendersignal.co.uk and mail.tendersignal.co.uk.
5. Confirm your email address is verified
We only send to a verified address. If you never selected the link in your verification email, sign in and we will send you a fresh link. Check that the address on your Profile page is the one you actually read.
6. Widen a search that is too narrow
If your dashboard shows few matches, there is little to email. Try these:
- Add a few more keywords describing what you do. A search with one or two very specific terms may rarely find anything. See keywords or sectors.
- On your Preferences page, check Buyer types. Leave it on All buyers to see everything.
- Check the switches under European tenders, such as European tenders in English, if you want European notices as well as UK and Ireland.
- Look at the warnings on your search cards. A flagged keyword has not matched anything in 12 months.
Good to know
- Buyers publish fewer tenders at weekends and on bank holidays, so some quiet days are normal.
- If one of our emails bounced or was reported as spam, tender emails stop for that address. Contact us to switch them back on.
- Your dashboard always shows every match, whether or not an email was sent.
- Still stuck? Send us a message on the contact page with the address you use and which email you expected.
Common questions
Why did I not get a weekly digest this week?
The digest is only sent in weeks when something new matched your saved search. If nothing did, no email is sent. Your dashboard shows everything that matched.
I am on the Free plan and get no emails about new tenders. Why?
Free plans get a weekly digest, not an email for every match. You also need a saved search, because the digest is built from it.
