What Tenderbase is
Tenderbase describes itself as a tender management platform that helps businesses find, manage and win public sector contracts across the UK and Ireland. According to its website, the product combines tender search with relevance scoring, saved searches and alerts, tracking of prior information notices (PINs) and pipeline, and access to tender documents such as ITT, RFP, RFQ, PQQ and SQ packs.
Its site also lists buyer intelligence, supplier and competitor intelligence, and a decision maker directory with procurement contact details. Integrations listed include Microsoft Teams, HubSpot, Monday.com, Salesforce and WhatsApp.
What Tenderbase does well
- Clear regional pricing. Plans are priced by how much of the map you cover, so a business that only sells in one part of the country can pick a cheaper tier. Prices are published openly.
- A broad toolset in one place. Search, scoring, tender documents, buyer and supplier research and contact details sit together.
- Optional bid support. Tenderbase lists end-to-end bid writing, bid editing and polishing, and bid or no-bid decision support as services. If you want someone else to write the response, that is a real advantage.
- A trial without payment up front. It offers a 14-day free trial with no payment taken today, and you can cancel before the first billing date.
How TenderSignal approaches the same job
TenderSignal is built around finding the opportunities a standard search can miss. It covers England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. That means the national portals (Find a Tender, Contracts Finder, Public Contracts Scotland, Sell2Wales, eTendersNI and eTenders in Ireland) plus 600+ buyer portals that we check directly: councils, NHS bodies, housing associations, universities, utilities and more, on platforms such as In-Tend, Delta eSourcing, ProContract, Atamis and Jaggaer.
Around one in four live tenders we carry is not on any national portal. If you only watch the national portals, that quarter is easy to miss. Those notices do sit on the buyer's own portal, so we simply do the watching for you.
The second difference is buyer contacts. On Pro at £39/month (plus VAT, monthly billing, cancel any time) you get the buyer's contact name, email and phone on the tender, so you can ask a clarification question or introduce yourself before the deadline. Pro also includes every match delivered daily, an AI relevance score with the reasoning, matches not on the national portals, contracts coming up for renewal in your sectors, and unlimited saved searches.
Free lets you browse and discover, with no card, and the Free plan costs £0: you can browse every live tender, search, filter and sort, view award history and competitor profiles, and keep one saved search with its matches in your account, with a weekly email of how many new tenders it found. Business starts at £99/month + VAT for teams, with shared notes, expiring contracts in every sector, competitor intelligence and CSV export. Charities get 30% off. You can see every tier on the pricing page.

Who each product suits
Tenderbase may suit you if you want a single regional or UK-wide subscription with tender documents, buyer and competitor research and an option to buy bid writing help from the same supplier. The lower tiers are inexpensive if you sell in a small number of regions.
TenderSignal may suit you if your priority is not missing tenders that sit outside the national portals, you want buyer contacts at £39/month + VAT, or you want to start free with no card, keep searching free and upgrade only when Pro earns its keep. It is also a good fit for teams who write their own bids and need discovery and qualification, not a writing service.
Many suppliers could sensibly try both. Run a free TenderSignal account alongside Tenderbase's trial and see which one surfaces more relevant work in your sector.
Where to go next
If you are weighing up several tools, our alternatives hub compares them, and the tender alert software roundup sets out the wider market. Browse by nation with our England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland hubs, or by sector, such as construction tenders. You can look up a council or NHS body in the buyer directory, or start with free tender alerts. Similar comparisons: Bidstats and Tenders Direct.
