Full description

Provision of a community-based First Episode Psychosis (FEP) support service for individuals residing in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan who are experiencing, or recovering from, a first episode of psychosis. The service will work in partnership with statutory mental health services to deliver person-centred, recovery-focused support that promotes independence, social inclusion and improved health and wellbeing outcomes.

The service will provide practical and emotional support to individuals and their families, helping them to engage with their communities, maintain positive relationships, access education, training and employment opportunities, and develop the skills and confidence required for recovery. Support may include one-to-one interventions, peer support, group activities, wellbeing initiatives, advocacy, information and advice, signposting to other relevant services and support to access community resources.

The provider will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, voluntary sector organisations and wider stakeholders to reduce social isolation, improve resilience, promote recovery and support individuals to achieve their personal goals. The service will be focused on early intervention, prevention of relapse and enhancing quality of life, ensuring support is accessible, responsive and tailored to individual need.
