Description
South Hams SAC Berry Head GHB tracking to support the
Local Plan in-combination assessment. There is limited
empirical data on greater horseshoe bat movement within
the Berry Head landscape. Existing radio-tracking studies
provide useful evidence of commuting behaviour, but the
data is now dated, geographically limited and reflects activity
at a specific point in time. The work will involve fitting bats
with Bluetooth-enabled tags to improve understanding of
greater horseshoe bat movement patterns around Torbay.
This evidence will be used to support the Local Plan in
combination HRA assessment.
