Co-ordinated Volunteer Family Support Service (Resilient Families)

Powys County Council wish to commission a suitably experienced organisation which is able to provide a co-ordinated volunteer family support service to offer regular support, friendship and practical parenting advice to families in their own homes, helping to preventfamily crisis and improve confidence and positive outcomes for families.

The Council is inviting bids from suitably qualified and experienced providers to tender for the provision of Co-ordinated Volunteer Family Support Service in Powys (Resilient Families).

Powys County Council wish to commission a suitably experienced organisation which is able to provide a co-ordinated volunteer family support service to offer regular support, friendship and practical parenting advice to families in their own homes, helping to prevent family crisis and improve confidence and positive outcomes for families.

The Council is inviting bids from suitably qualified and experienced providers to tender for the provision of Co-ordinated Volunteer Family Support Service in Powys (Resilient Families).

The service will have the following main objectives/outcomes:

• To recruit and train volunteers to provide parenting advice, practical advice and support to families in need in their own homes.- To provide peripatetic holistic support that strengthens and supports the skills of families with children aged 0-12 years.
• To support and encourage families to use universal services as a single agency or as part of a multi-agency team in support of TAF/Early Help.
• To adhere to the Welsh Government guidance as best practice on delivering parenting support.

The service would also help to promote social cohesion in communities by supporting family events during weekends/school holidays in conjunction with Powys’ Early Help Team and relevant partners.
