Refurbishment of Seven Public Conveniences for West Oxfordshire District Council

West Oxfordshire District Council (the Authority) is reducing its portfolio of Public Conveniences but aims to significantly improve the facilities it retains to provide good quality, user-friendly and accessible public conveniences. This is a Design and Build contract, utilising the JCT Minor Works Building Contract with Contractor’s Design 2024, that covers three different proposals for improvements:

1. Repairs and card reader installation only

• Kilkenny Country Park, Carterton
• High Street, Burford
• Market Square, Bampton

2. Refurbishment & Repairs

• Guildenford car park, Burford
• Langdale Gate, Witney

3. Redesign to provide direct access facilities and building repairs

• Hensington Road car park, Woodstock
• New Street, Chipping Norton

The facilities shall:

• All provide direct access multi-gender cubicles with toilet, sink and hand dryer
• Promote inclusion, dignity and equality of access
• Be easy to use, clean and maintain
• Be durable, vandal-resistant and cost-effective to operate and maintain
• Meet all relevant statutory, regulatory and best-practice standards
