Architectural Services for FGH Theatre Upgrades

Provision of Architectural Services to support the upgrade of Theatres 6 & 7 located at Furness General Hospital. Delivered via a direct award under the NHS SBS Healthcare Planning, Construction Consultancy and Ancillary Services Framework (SBS10190) - Lot 1 Architectural services.

The service will support RIBA Plan of Work Stages 1-4, and provide the following services:

• Architect / Interior Designer & Lead Design Consultant
• CDM Principal Designer (2015)
• BSA Building Regulations (Principal Designer)
• M&E Engineering Services Consultant

The procurement relates to the appointment of a specialist provider to deliver RIBA Stages 1-4, including Architectural Services in support of the upgrade of Theatres 6 & 7 located at Furness General Hospital.

The scope of services includes :

• Architect / Interior Designer & Lead Design Consultant
• CDM Principal Designer (2015)
• BSA Building Regulations (Principal Designer)
• M&E Engineering Services Consultant

The Contracting Authority has awarded the contract by way of a direct award under the NHS SBS Healthcare Planning, Construction Consultancy and Ancillary Services Framework (SBS10190) - Lot 1 Architectural Services.

The Trust does not maintain an in-house architectural service and therefore requires specialist external expertise to support the delivery of its capital programme. This procurement approach supports compliance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, the terms of the framework agreement, and the Trust’s governance requirements. The direct award route was selected as it represents a compliant approach with the framework terms.
