Peatland restoration training site - Tarras Valley Nature Reserve

NatureScot is seeking an experienced peatland restoration contractor to demonstrate and mentor trainees on a peatland restoration training site

We wish to appoint a Principal Contractor who will:

• provide, maintain and supply fuel for two low ground pressure, tracked excavators on the site, preferably with tilting/rotator buckets
• provide a skilled operator/site supervisor and an additional operator/demonstrator for the duration of the training project, to demonstrate peatland restoration techniques and mentor the trainees. We ask that you provide feedback and support to the trainees by way of discussing the techniques and providing constructive and positive critique where necessary.
• oversee the work on the site, in conjunction with experienced Peatland ACTION staff who will be on site at times during the training programme.
• be responsible for CDM documentation and ensuring the Health and Safety on the site, in accordance with CDM Regulations 2015.
• record the work carried out on the site on Peatland ACTIONs spatial data template.
• complete work left outstanding (if any) at the conclusion of the 2-week period
