Tree Surgery and Tree Safety Works Framework – South District

We intend to award a framework agreement for dangerous tree maintenance and survey work for South England Forest District this includes Programmed Work and Emergency work, Tree Health Management Works and Tree Safety Inspection Work.

District Tree Health Management

A maximum of eight contractors will be awarded within this Lot.

The Tree Health Management work will comprise of but not limited to the felling and extraction of diseased trees that are considered a risk to the public or infrastructure. It would consider sites that need to be maintained on a larger scale than individual trees. The majority of work will be completed using a mechanised method such as a grapple saw or harvester and forwarder/tractor and timber trailer for extraction. On some occasions the assistance of motor manual chainsaws maybe required to process the trees. Additionally, the use of a tractor and winch maybe required for operational purposes.

The District has a tree inspection programme from which trees requiring attention are identified and the contractor will be advised by the appropriate Beat Forester of the order of work – we would normally expect the contractor to be on site within four weeks of being notified.
