This is for market information and evaluation only.
United Utilities Water Ltd (UUW) is currently developing its strategy for AMP8, and when this is finalised it intends to publish a Call for Competition to secure a range of supply chain partners for the delivery of a substantial part of its AMP8 and potentially AMP9 Capital Programme. The AMP8 regulatory period will run from April 2025 to March 2030.
The AMP7 Capital Programme (2020 to 2025) is currently projected to be in excess of 1.5 billion GBP. The value and content of the AMP8 programme is subject to regulatory review and approval around November 2024, and is likely to evolve throughout the intervening period, but whilst further information on size and shape of the programme will develop over the coming months, the current indication is that the value of the programme will exceed AMP7.
A suite of Frameworks and tender lots are anticipated to be required to deliver the Capital Programme, they will likely include;
- Delivery partners for works ranging from low complexity build-only activity through to complex Design and Build capability, and full catchment delivery
- Engineering consultancy services,
- Specialist Water & Wastewater Modelling services,
- Commercial Consultancy, Assurance and related activities and
- Capabilities relating to the delivery of Nature Based / Green Solutions (including project conception, design and implementation).
We are also considering an upfront Strategic Engineering Partner Service to help develop and optimise the programme in line with the Options Hierarchy (including hybrid solutions).
We would like to understand from the market,
- types of partners operating in these markets,
- commercial models and incentive mechanisms of interest, and
