Understanding a tender

Find the buyer's contact details

Updated 2 Oct 2026

The Contact section of a tender page shows who to ask about the notice; everyone sees it on tenders also on a national portal, and Pro adds Hard to find tenders.

The Contact section of a tender page shows who to speak to about the notice. On any tender that is also on a national portal, everyone sees the contact name, email address and phone number, including free accounts and visitors who are not signed in. On tenders marked Hard to find, the contact details are part of Pro.

Find the contact

  1. Open a tender from your Dashboard, Browse or an email.
  2. Scroll to the Contact section.
  3. Read the Contact name, Email and Phone rows. Select the email or phone number to start an email or call.

The section also shows the buyer's Address and Website where the notice includes them. These are open to everyone on every tender.

If a notice does not include a contact, the Contact section may show only the address and website, or may not appear at all. In that case the notice itself and the buyer's own website are the places to look.

What a locked contact looks like

On a Hard to find tender, a Free account sees locked placeholders marked Name, Email address and Phone number, with this note: "This tender is hard to find: it is not on the national portals. Pro shows who to contact on the tenders they miss."

  1. If you are signed in, select Upgrade to Pro. A panel opens explaining what Pro adds. Choose Start Pro to upgrade.
  2. If you are not signed in, select Sign up free first, then upgrade from your account.

See What "Hard to find" means for what the badge tells you, and Upgrade your plan for how upgrading works.

When to contact the buyer

Buyers often name a contact for questions about a notice. Good moments to get in touch:

Good to know

  • Contact details are shown as the buyer published them. If an address bounces or a number is unanswered, try the buyer's website or the instructions in the notice.
  • Keep questions short and refer to the notice title so the buyer can find it quickly.
  • Business plan members also have access to the contacts on every tender, along with other team features.
